Jon Delaney is a guitarist living and working in Melbourne, Australia, playing mostly in the Jazz Manouche style of the legendary Django Reinhardt. He performs and tours regularly, and teaches Jazz Manouche and modern jazz.

Jon studied modern jazz improvisation and composition at the Victorian College of the Arts (Mmus 2005), before discovering Gypsy Jazz and immersing himself in its techniques and traditions. He runs "La Mauvaise Reputation", a band playing and singing the songs of 20s and 30s Paris in their original French.  He also performs with Peter Baylor's "Ultrafox", vocal harmony group "The Furbelows".

Jon also performs modern jazz with Melbourne singer Louisa Rankin both in duo and larger ensemble formats, and with the trio Delaney/Gilmartin/Lee, which is the main showcase for his compositions, along with those of singer Emma Gilmartin and bassist Tom Lee.

He has authored two theses, "Jim Hall Live!: a study of improvised group interaction", and "In Search of a History: Selection and Performance of the Keyboard Works of J.S.Bach for Pick-style Guitar and Bass Duo" for his Honours and Masters degrees respectively, and leads an on again/off again electric guitar quartet playing Bach's Art of Fugue.
